If it wasn’t that I know that the courts and gentlemen
judges, also the assisting entities including employees, all having more than
enough of duties to do, I would have sued “We” company asking for prosecuting
the head responsible in it along with all who follow him… first thing is
choosing a foreign word for a company whose money, salaries, rewards and
benefits given to its head and the rest of employees come from people speaking
Arabic; language of Quran, state, literature, culture and arts… I have no idea
why not calling it “Nahnu[1]”?!
Second thing, this company is the only one monopolizing
the landline telephone; meaning that you cannot object or complain as you have
no other option to choose.
Thirdly, when you dial 111 to make a complaint or ask
for a service, a series of instruction start until you come to the point of
pressing on the digit 0 to talk to a person in the company, then he answers
asking about your name, phone number along with the governorate code; although
that you have already entered the code and number, and of course, he can see it
in front of him… then, he asks you about your name and address, afterwards, he
inquires about your issue, and so you start narrating the story. In my case,
the issue is that I have a landline number and have subscribed in the
international line service. I also use a fax over it due to my work and
communications with whom who live abroad…
Most probably, there is someone who mess with this
service… and so, I have to call once… and many times… to listen to helpless
employees with monotone and breathless voice who have nothing to do, then I
take the complaint reference number, then they tell me that a technician will
come to inspect… and that the service will be back in 48 hours, not including
Fridays and Saturdays, or I hear the statement saying “Bear with me… I will
transfer you to the one in charge”, then line goes dead, and so, I have to call
again and again.
This is an example for a big company supposedly
possessing the most advanced tools in its specialization; that is
communications and information services, and receiving money for its services,
however, it is an empty entity with no one feeling responsible towards his
work, nor towards the subscribers whose money pays for the salaries of the
administration starting from the biggest head to the lowest in rank employee… I
can say that this famous proverb saying that “the fish gets rotten from its
head” is correct.
It is not much different to entering a famous-brand
supermarket where all goods are neatly aligned, then you head to the dairy and
meat section for example to find the flies buzzing around you, hitting your
face and sticking to it… then you ask to talk to the one in charge –meaning the
head manager– when you are told that “he’s doing Asr prayers”. Then, you
ask those working there who stare at you with amaze or disgust due to your
protest and loud voice asking about their qualifications and if they have
another source of income, and if they know that the projects fail due to those
corrupt elements who act like weevils infesting the construction of such projects…
at that point you receive the answer, in the same breathless monotone voice,
saying “What can we do about flies”?!
They used to say that corruption in our country was
due to the government employees and public sector, as no one is held
accountable, and because the employee is certain that he will take his salary
no matter how negligent he is… and because corruption goes more and more wide
spread in bureaucracy and public sector facilities…
Now, let us ask: why such thing happens in the private
sector; whether in companies offering services; as Vodafone and Orange have
what is worse than We… I have a lot to say in such regard as I have two mobile
lines for each of those two companies… or in companies with many branches of
commercial markets selling provisions and other stuff… also in construction
companies to the rest of the list… as we see in newspapers everyday people asking
for the highest-rank responsible to interfere for the sake of those robbed when
buying Chalets, villas, apartments and pieces of lands!
Where is the origin of this corruption… meaning the
main source of puss that we keep pressing until blood comes out of it to get
all the puss out, bearing the horrible pain to feel better later?!
Should I write that this is a notification for the
responsible in We company that violates the contract and cuts the service that
we pay for promptly?! Should I write that this loud scream is for those
responsible about the strategy of building the human announced by the president
and considered as his plan for the coming phase of his presidency, as such
wide-spread phenomenon in the government, public and private sectors mean that
we have an endemic disease that hit the heart of our society and that causes it
to produce more malignant cells that do not stop destroying all the healthy
cells?!
Will the fish head in We
company take a look at these lines? And if he did, will he pay attention to
them? Or turn his face to the other side saying: “let him write whatever he
wants… this will change nothing”?!
